Paperland
In few words
Paperland is an exercise of 3D animation that I made together with Daniele Tonon and Silvia Sartori at IUAV University.
The aim of the exercise was to make a fake commercial for an existing brand, so we chose to advertise the Canson company by leading the spectator through the imaginary world of a drawer’s mind while making his artwork; focusing on how from a white sheet of paper everything can come out if you just start drawing it.
The music was made by me and Daniele but he did a great arrangement in a very short time!
The process
Since we had just a couple of months to finish the whole project and we were completely ignorants about 3D animations and about create a world made out of paper with a 3D software, our first step was to actually build that world with real paper and then moving to the computer side to try to copy it…
This process helped us a lot to speed up the process and, although we know that we didn’t get a very realistic result we are anyway quite proud of it.
