Tomorrow I’ll leave to Dortmund. On 24th August I’ll give a talk about OTTO at ISEA 2010.
I’m super excited about that, I will definitely meet a lot of cool people starting from those who are going to speak at my same conference.

Here is a brand new video by NABA which quickly documents all the workshops of the Compasso di Latta: the event placed in Bovisa’s Triennale during the Furniture week on 2010. It was very fun to led a workshop surrounded by a lot of crazy good projects and people! Enjoy.

OTTO on WEAVE

Yesterday I got the last number of WEAVE and guess what!?…well there is not that much to guess actually… anyway, on page 126 there is a picture of OTTO! (look below to see the evidence) I think that it’s also mentioned somewhere in the article but I didn’t have the time to check jet and I also need an interpreter. But even just this picture makes me very happy. So let me thank Stefan Wölwer who wrote the article and WEAVE magazine for sending me a copy of the mag.
At WEAVE magazine’s website you can have a quick look at the main contents, OTTO is inside the last article titled “ZIEL: INTERACTION DESIGNER”, I think they will let to consult the article after publishing the next number.

Who’s that guy on the right looking scared by a weird device with a bunch of LEDs? Me doing a demo with OTTO at DJ clinic 2010! That was a fun experience indeed, showing OTTO to an audience mainly made of DJs! I was quite surprised to see their big appreciation and hear how they’d love to use it for their sets.
So this was DJ clinic 2010 in Cesenatico, and this is the website of the event.

Compasso di latta

I just finished the quick workshop for the event titled Compasso di Latta, based in Milan at the Triennale during the furniture week 2010. Me and Michele Favale did a little workshop teaching people how to craft weird objects with electronic components. Michele showed how to build little drawings robots and I showed how to make a Drawdio circuit and find curious uses for it. Below you can see some guys having fun with a Drawdio brush and Michele in the back bending plastics to make his crazy robots.
It was a lot of fun and I’m very happy to had the chance to know such a interesting guy as Michele is. Check out the Compasso di Latta’s website, hope you’ll enjoy it.

On Monday 16th , in occasion of the fifth edition of the Lucky Strike T. Designer Award, the Raymond Loewy Fundation Italy awarded to OTTO one of the ten a mentions of honor.
It has been quite a challange between more than 180 pojects so I would like to say thank you again to all the people who supported me during my thesis months.

I finally finished this new website!
Actually only the layout is new and it wasn’t my intention to spend the last three days messing around with CSS and PHP stuff again, but thanks to the latest WordPress upgrade I messed up my old website and instead to spend time trying to restore what I had before (which I didn’t really like that much…) I got it as an opportunity to make a better display rack for my works.
I hope you’ll enjoy it.
